My Weight Loss Journey - Update 2 - Oral Surgery and Other Things

Firs of all I want to apologize, its been 3 weeks I believe since my last update. I have been pretty busy, between working late night shifts and catching up on sleep and then getting everything else done that needs to get done I just haven't had time to sit down and record a video.

My boss has been putting my solely on late night shifts so I don't get home until after midnight. It has been like this for about a month if I'm remembering correctly and I am kicking these shifts' butts, but I have to admit that it is quite taxing, I am always tired and can't seem to get enough sleep.

In other news, I spent a few days relocating in my house from one room to another, that took quite a bit of time and energy. My mom and my aunt took a whole day to paint my room, put the carpet down again and bring all my furniture back in and set it up, I am so unbelievably grateful to them. Being able to come home after a late night shift and sleep in my finished room was incredible. In my next video I will give you all a little tour of my room, hopefully by then I will have my vanity table sanded and re-painted and my mirror and lights hung. This also means we will enjoy a new and better recording location.

This past Wednesday I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. For those of you that don't know me, I suffer from relatively severe anxiety and in most cases would have been absolutely freaking out about the oral surgery. Something in me has changed recently, I'm not sure why or how but it was like a switch was flipped. I had zero anxiety on the day of the oral surgery from start to finish. I was calm as could be even when they told my less than 5 minutes prior to the procedure that they would not be able to put me to sleep due to the medications I am on. I was even so bold as to keep my eyes open through most of the procedure. I've been dealing fairly well with the pain but I credit most of that to the vicodin. I will  be on an all liquids diet until I heal so hopefully that will help kickstart me to get back on track with my diet, I know, maybe not the best way to get started but I figured I would take advantage of the situation. Due to the extraction, I have been out of commission the past 3 days and would be today as well if my work had been able to find someone to cover for me, but here I am, at work, swollen, and hopped up on the vicodin they prescribed me for the pain. Since I knew I would have to be in public, I decided that I would attempt to distract from my swollen cheeks by doing some killer eye makeup today. I will post the results of that below as well as pictures of the swelling from the day after surgery just for kicks.

Now onto the weight loss part of this post.

I have plateaued, my weight has stayed at 192.4 lbs since my last video without any fluctuation at all. To be fair I haven't been sticking to the diet the way I should be but like I said, I've been very busy and it's been difficult to maintain a balanced diet. I am pleased however that I at least haven't gained any weight due to my lack of dedication.

I will hopefully have some time tomorrow to record a video update but I make no promises.

My Weight Loss Journey - Update

Hi everyone, if you're keeping up with this blog, you've probably noticed that I haven't done my usual Friday Weight Loss Journey video, the reason for this is that I've had to take on some extra shifts at work and just didn't have time yesterday to record and upload a video. I'm hoping to get it done tomorrow but as it stands I'm running on about 2-3 hours of sleep, currently on an 8 hour shift and am getting together with some friends tonight after work so I probably won't get much sleep tonight either, therefor tomorrow just may be a day of rest for me before I head back into work.

I attempted to record a video in my little booth at work but I only have access to the webcam on my laptop so the video quality is just awful and its a bit awkward to record while I'm on display for the world to see. I do have another WWE Makeup to post as well but don't have my Coastal Scents pallette on me to double check the colours I used, so that will also be posted in the upcoming week.

As always I appreciate you reading, have a wonderful day!

My Weight Loss Journey - Day 0

Here's a simple video I made to share my story with you guys. Here's to new beginnings!

Something A Little More Personal - Not Makeup Related

I've been sitting here in my little booth at work for a while debating whether or not to make this post but I've come to the decision that I will in fact go through with this because I feel like I can't possibly the only person that feels this way.

For those of you who don't know me or haven't known me long, I used to be thin. Over the years a combination of medications and life have added on the pounds and as I stand here and now, I am beyond unhappy with my self image. I am literally a thin girl trapped in an overweight girl's body. Believe me when I say that I am by no means an advocate for today's standards of what a woman should look like, it is both insane and sickening. I am however an advocate for health, I believe that it is the most important thing a person could have. I, like many others, have unfortunately not been blessed with perfect health and now my weight is adding to those existing health problems.

I have been struggling with my weight for a few years now and instead of fluctuating, it has just slowly increased. After trying on a dozen outfits last night before going out, I felt embarrassed and hopeless. None of my clothes fit me the way they used to and nothing seems to be able to minimize the appearance of my round stomach.

That experience has me ready for change, ready to fit back into my old clothes, ready to feel comfortable wearing a swimsuit, even if its just a one-piece. Ready to reform my life. Because that's what is really is isn't it? A reformation of your life.

The problem? I love food. When I say I love food, I don't think you quite understand just how serious I am. I love to cook it, I love to eat it. My favorite food group? Cheese. I am literally in love with cheese. Anyway, now I'm getting off track.

My plan is to join Weight Watchers. The good thing about Weight Watchers is that it really helps me put food in perspective for myself unlike a lot of other diets. A diet can inform me about how bad sugars are and these are good fats and those are bad fats, the whole shebang, but for some reason that doesn't make a difference to me. Now when you make me choose between a bowl of ice cream and dinner, I'm going to choose dinner. Of course there are going to be days when I'm damn well going to choose the ice cream but the regret of using up my points is just going to make me choose dinner next time.

I don't know if you know how Weight Watchers works but I'll give you a little run down. Basically, based on your weight, height, age and a few other things, you are given a certain amount of points for your day. Lets say I get 24 points for the day. Every food item has a number value that you can look up in a little book. Every time you eat a food, you subtract that food's point value from your daily points allowance. Once you get to 0 you are done eating for the day.

I've tried Weight Watchers before and can't remember why I stopped because I was seeing results so I'm ready to give it another go. I think I will probably do some weight updates on here so bear with me.

My concerns are that I tend to do something really consistently for a little over a week and then lose my momentum and with this, I can't let that happen because my health depends on my success. Any advice on how to stick with something? Please leave a comment!

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you all have a wonderful day.
